Khan was a project of the Canterbury scene that can proudly stand alongside Egg, Gilgamesh, and Matching Mole with just one album. The band was formed by Steve Hillage, Nick Greenwood, Pip Pyle, and Dick Henningham. The music material was mostly written by Hillage during his student years. The album was closer to prog-rock traditions but still had Canterbury roots. The music leaves a feeling of lightness and airiness. The band disbanded after a tour in 1972.
